The Company

Officine Barbieri srl operates in the field of medium and heavy-duty mechanical metalwork through three divisions:

Officine Barbieri srl

Officine Barbieri srl specialises in third party manufacturing of components for earth-moving machines, handling machinery such as telescopic chassis and arms; bases, bearings and joints for the road and railway industry; structures for gantries, lifting beams, lifting brackets, undercarriages and truck lift axle shafts for the lifting and transport industry; iron beams for bridges and structures for the construction industry

The products can be finished with any type of mechanical machining required for complete assembly of the machine.

The business operates through three production units benefiting from a workforce specialised in structural steelwork, welding (including robotised welding) and mechanical machining processes including turning, boring, milling and flattening with numerically controlled machining centres. The unit based in Zerbinate di Bondeno, the most recent addition to the group in 2001, is specialised in the production of telescopic arms for handling machinery with a plasma cutting centre for structural tubing and a robotised welding station for the components manufactured. The unit located in Via Piretta Rovere in Scortichino, the welding centre, specialises in the manual welding of some of the parts manufactured in the main factory using continuous wire welding machines and submerged arc welding systems.
The main factory, located in Scortichino, specialises in manufacturing chassis and machine components using welding robots, and mechanical machining using numerically controlled machining centres.

The three units have a total workforce of between 100 and 120 employees including metal workers, welders and machine tool operators.

The customers, mainly national industrial companies, benefit from a complete service including delivery of the products direct to their premises thanks to a substantial fleet of vehicles including a lowered trolley for transporting large iron structures.

As welding quality is of prime importance for the type of products manufactured by the company, it has been certified for welding quality in accordance with DIN EN 729-2: 1994 and DIN 18 800-7, DIN 15 018.
